SHS recognizes October Sailors of the month!

Scituate High School is proud to recognize our October Sailors of the Month! These students have not only excelled in their academic and extracurricular pursuits but have also made a positive impact on our school community. They embody the values of leadership, kindness, and dedication, and we are thrilled to honor them for their contributions.

Jayla Mae Stephens

Jayla Mae Stephens inspired us all at the "This is Our House" event with her heartfelt speech about community and belonging. Her words were a powerful reminder of the importance of unity, and she reignited a renewed sense of pride in our school. Jayla's passion and leadership are evident in everything she does, and she continues to inspire her peers to contribute to a stronger, more inclusive school community. Thank you, Jayla, for showing us the true power of belonging and the impact we can all have when we come together.

Jack Dalicandro

Jack Dalicandro has shown tremendous growth in his time with the SHS Symphonic Band. As both a leader and a team player, Jack consistently leads by example. His work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to excellence have made him a key member of the ensemble. Jack is always willing to help his peers and reinforces good habits, creating a supportive and cohesive atmosphere within the band. His dedication to the music program and his peers is truly commendable. Keep up the great work, Jack!

Clara Adams

Clara is one of the warmest, most welcoming students at Scituate High School. Her ability to make everyone feel seen and heard is a testament to her kind heart. Clara goes out of her way to make younger students feel more comfortable, fostering a school environment where everyone feels free to express themselves. She has made a lasting impact on the school’s culture, ensuring that each student feels like they belong. Clara, you make Scituate High School a better place just by being yourself!

Riley Guterl

Riley’s dedication to the creation of the Unified Basketball Team has been outstanding. Her enthusiasm, commitment, and leadership helped transform the idea into a thriving program that now brings our community together. Riley was present at every practice, helped promote the team, and played a key role in building excitement, leading to packed gyms during games. Her efforts have had a lasting impact, and her work has made a difference not only in the program but in the entire school community. Thank you, Riley, for your dedication and leadership!

Cole Laivins

In addition to his academic achievements, Cole has also proven to be a leader outside the classroom. As a leader of the Global Economics Club, Cole has played a key role in planning and executing lessons for his peers. His passion for the subject and his ability to work collaboratively have made him an invaluable asset to the club. Cole’s dedication to helping others learn and his leadership within the club are truly commendable. Keep up the great work, Cole – your efforts are making a difference!

Kerri Hallihan

Kerri has been an invaluable support system for new staff members at SHS. As someone who recently joined our community, I can personally attest to how Kerri has gone above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Her enthusiasm and dedication to her work inspire everyone around her. Kerri encourages her colleagues to be active members of our community, and her constant flow of new ideas for activities keeps us all on our toes. A special shout-out also goes to the entire Math Department for fostering an environment where we all strive to be the best educators we can be. Kerri’s positive influence and leadership are appreciated by all. Thank you, Kerri!

Jen Curtis

Jen Curtis has made an incredible transition to the 9th grade team this year, and we couldn’t be happier to have her on board. She brings a wonderful energy and fresh ideas to the team, making every collaboration a joy. Her enthusiasm and dedication to her students and colleagues are truly contagious. Jen is an amazing colleague who has helped make our freshmen crew even stronger, and we are so lucky to have her as part of our school family. Thank you, Jen, for everything you do!

Bill Luette

Bill Luette did an outstanding job coordinating the freshmen activities during CCC Day. His attention to detail, care for the students, and enthusiasm were evident as he checked in with every class and activity throughout the day. Bill’s commitment to ensuring that everyone had what they needed made the event seamless and successful. His dedication to supporting students and staff alike is truly appreciated. Laura Brink

We are incredibly grateful for Laura Brink, our new administrative assistant in the main office. Laura’s warm smile and eagerness to help have already made her a favorite among students, who know they can count on her friendly support whenever issues arise. She has settled into her role seamlessly, bringing a wonderful positive energy to the office. Laura’s kindness and willingness to go above and beyond have made a significant impact, and we are so fortunate to have her as part of our team.
