Special Education
The Scituate Public Schools provides services for students in accordance with the Federal Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) and state (603 CMR 28.00) regulations. Scituate Public Schools provides a continuum of special education services for students based on individual needs and Team recommendations.
Child Find
The Scituate Public School District is mandated to evaluate students suspected of having a disability who reside in Scituate, including students who attend private schools. As a parent/guardian, if you are concerned that your student may have a disability and requires specialized instruction and/or related services to make effective progress, you may request an evaluation by sending a letter to the special education office or emailing the Director of Special Education at mboebert@scit.org.
Students with Disabilities
Students with disabilities who need accommodations but not specialized instruction may be eligible for a 504 plan. Please know that all students may receive supports and interventions based on their individual needs. Please contact the District Guidance Coordinator at 781-545-8759 ext. 11370.
